What is a Lutheran Christian?
A Christian is someone who puts God first in their life. This means that they don’t just worship Him once a week, they carry the teachings and grace of Christ with them wherever they go, every day. While a Christian is not a perfect person, they are on a constant journey of love, spiritual growth and understanding. Striving to bring themselves closer to the person God wants them to be and encouraging others on their own faith journey.
A Lutheran Christian is the same, with the addition that we believe that we are saved by grace, and not by works. That is, that there is no series of actions, prayers, offerings that anyone on earth could make in order to pay for their own sins - because Jesus has already paid for them with his death on the cross. Therefore, we forever have access to God's grace and mercy, despite all our shortcomings - all we need to do is accept that gift of grace.
