Weddings at St Martin's Lutheran Church

Marriage is one of the most important choices that a couple will make in life. We believe in Christian marriage and desire that each couple has a beautiful wedding. It is not essential to be married by a Pastor for the marriage to be valid. However, Christians wish to ask God to bless their relationship and make their vows in the presence of God and His people. A Christian marriage begins with a ceremony where Christ is at the centre. We celebrate and worship Him and God's gift of marriage which Jesus upholds.
“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’" And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together” (Matthew 19:4-6). |

Wedding fees are set by the Administration Team of our congregation and are subject to annual review.

PRE-MARRIAGE COURSE*
The Prepare-Enrich™ course cost has been set by the Administration Team of our congregation and is subject to annual review.
Cost: $160 (includes 4 x 1 hour sessions with Facilitator) + $42 for online inventory payable to Prepare-Enrich Australia via Credit Card.
(Please pay by cheque at initial meeting, payable to 'St Martin's Lutheran Church Gladstone'.)

*IMPORTANT NOTE: It is an expectation of the Lutheran Church of Australia, our Minister and the Administration Leadership Team of the congregation that all couples who are married by our Minister participate in a PREPARE/ENRICH pre-marriage course. Most people learn about marriage by watching marriages of parents, relatives and friends. Television and magazines provide another view of marriage, not always a realistic one. At St Martin's Lutheran Church our Minister uses the leading relationship inventory and skill-based program use nationally and internationally. This course teaches attitudes and skills which enrich family life and enhance successful marriage. More important information for people planning to marry follow this link.
