Discover Us
The Lutheran Church is the largest Protestant church in the world, with over 70 million people gathering in congregations across the globe. Here in Australia and New Zealand, the Lutheran Church invites people from all walks of life to follow Jesus - where love comes to life in real, everyday ways.
At St Martins Lutheran Church in Gladstone, we’re part of that story. We’re a local expression of a global faith - anchored in Scripture, shaped by grace, and committed to walking with others in faith, hope, and love.
Whoever you are and whatever your story, you are welcome here.
Our Congregation
St Martins Lutheran Church is a small, faithful community in Gladstone, Queensland. As part of the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA), we are united by the gospel, guided by Scripture, and committed to sharing the love of Christ with our neighbours. Our members span generations, and we value fellowship, service, and spiritual care.
Our pastor, Rev Geoff Schefe, joined us in 2024 after serving congregations in New Zealand and Victoria. With a background in theology and ministry, Pastor Geoff brings warmth, wisdom, and a deep love for proclaiming God’s Word and administering the sacraments. He divides his time between our congregation in Gladstone and Wahroonga Aged Care in Biloela, where he also serves as chaplain. Despite the travel, he remains deeply connected to the life of our church and community.

What We Believe
We believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - three persons in one God. We trust in Jesus Christ as our Saviour, whose life, death and resurrection bring us forgiveness and eternal life.
As a congregation of the LCA, our faith is grounded in the Bible and expressed through the Lutheran Confessions. We believe that God comes to us through His Word and sacraments - Baptism and Holy Communion - offering grace and new life.
